This policy explains what personal information Grain & Glow collects, why we collect it and what we do with it. If you have any questions, email us at hello@grainandglowuk.com.

Who we are

Grain & Glow provides wedding camcorder hire and video editing across the UK. Under UK data protection law, we're the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

When you check a date: your name, your partner's name, your email address, your wedding date, your venue or town, the package you're interested in, and anything else you choose to tell us.
When you book: your postal address, phone number and payment details. Payments are handled by our payment provider, and we never see or store your full card details.
Your footage: the video and photos your guests capture, which will include the faces and voices of you and your guests.
Any emails or messages you send us.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry and confirm your booking, because you've asked us to.
To deliver your booking: posting your kit, editing your film and sending it to you, because that's our contract with you.
To keep business and tax records, because the law requires it.
To share clips from your film on our website or social media, but only if you've given us permission. You can withdraw that permission at any time.

We don't sell your information, and we won't add you to a mailing list without asking.

Who we share it with

We only share what's needed with trusted providers who help us run the business:

Webflow, which hosts our website and receives enquiry form submissions.
Microsoft, which provides our email.
Our payment provider, to take payments.
Royal Mail and other couriers, to deliver and return your kit.
Freelance editors and our film lab, who work on your film and photos under a duty of confidentiality.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. When they do, they use safeguards approved under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK–US data bridge.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become bookings: up to 12 months.
Your raw footage and finished film: 6 months after we send your film, then deleted.
Booking and payment records: 6 years, for tax purposes.

Cookies and similar technology

We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. If you close the launch offer banner, your browser remembers that so we don't show it again. That's stored on your device and never sent to us. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your device's IP address when a page loads.

Your rights

You have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email hello@grainandglowuk.com and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
